So, you want to become a Freemason but aren’t quite sure how to go about it. As an organization, we wish for good men who will be about the work once they are raised to that honorable position of Master Mason. Consider well the obligation you would be willing to make to the Fraternity and whether you will be able to continue your commitment before striking out on this career path.

    You Know 2 Freemasons

    • Download a Petition

    • Fill out the petition and ask 2 Masons that know you well to recommend you by signing their names to the petition.

    • Turn the petition into Damascus Lodge’s secretary (the best time to do this is the 2nd Wednesday of the month during the Steward’s Dinner).

    • A committee will perform their investigation into your credentials, speaking with your family and you.

    • The committee reports their findings to the Worshipful Master at the next Stated Meeting.

    • The Lodge votes on your admittance to Damascus #10.

    • If the vote is favorable, you will be contacted and a a date will be scheduled for you to begin your Masonic journey.

    You Don’t Know Any Masons

    • Attend as many of the Damascus events as you can for a period of six months.

      These events are generally the Meet-up on the 1st Wednesday of each month and the Steward’s Dinner followed by the Neophyte Class on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

    • After six months have passed…

      Download a Petition

    • Fill out the petition and ask 2 Masons that know you well to recommend you by signing their names to the petition.
